The University of Warsaw authorities have decided that teaching and learning will continue online in the upcoming summer semester.

According to a new rector’s ordinance regarding the organisation of the 2020/2021 summer semester, the majority of educational classes such as seminars and lectures as well as exams will be held remotely.

The ordinance issued by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, refers to:

  • 1st, 2nd and long-cycle study programmes;
  • Doctoral study programmes;
  • Doctoral Schools;
  • Postgraduate studies, courses and training.

Educational classes, being part of the 1st, 2nd and long-cycle studies, will be delivered online. Practical activities, e.g. laboratories and working experience are an exception and can be conducted on-site (following all health and well-being recommendations and guidelines).

Heads of educational units will decide on the mode of classes. They will present the lists of courses conducted on-site by 1st March 2021.

The ordinance states that exams, credits, diploma examinations, duty hours of academic teachers, and PE classes will take place remotely (the Physical Education and Sports Center director can decide on performing PE classes at the university premises).

Also, foreign language courses and university-wide classes (OGUNy) will be online.
